WASHINGTON (AP) — A bipartisan group of senators is pushing for restrictions on the use of facial recognition technology by the Transportation Security Administration, saying they are concerned about travelers' privacy and civil liberties.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell has repeatedly said he is "fine" since he froze up midsentence during a press conference on Wednesday. And now his office is trying to tamp down speculation that he might not fill out his term as leader because of his health.

6. Biden's warning on oil tests voter resolve on climate change -

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Joe Biden is confronting the harsh political realities of combating climate change.

The Democratic presidential nominee has spent months touting a $2 trillion plan to boost investment in clean energy and stop all climate-damaging emissions from the U.S. economy by 2050. The plan implied that he would wean the U.S. off oil and gas, but Biden wasn't so explicit about the industry's fate — until Thursday night.

Judea S. Davis is joining Bradley Arant Boult Cummings as an associate in the Litigation Practice Group.

Previously, Davis clerked for Judge Michelle Childs of the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina and Judge Garrison Hill of the South Carolina Court of Appeals. 13. FAA: Increase in sick leave causing flight delays -

NEW YORK (AP) — The Federal Aviation Administration reported delays in air travel Friday because of a "slight increase in sick leave" at two East Coast air traffic control facilities.

The delays come as a partial government shutdown threatens to undermine the nation's air travel system. Air traffic controllers and airport security agents have been working without pay since the federal shutdown began in December, but high absentee rates raise the possibility of long airport lines, or even worse.

24. Southwest operations appear on track after day of delays -

A day after technological problems delayed hundreds of flights, operations appear to have returned to normal Monday for Southwest Airlines.

Southwest said that it was still working to get some delayed or displaced customers into open seats and to deliver baggage, but it expected the technical systems that run its customer service to perform normally.

THOMSON, Ga. (AP) — A small private jet carrying a surgeon and members of his clinic staff aborted its landing at a Georgia airport before it hit a 60-foot utility pole and crashed in a flaming wreck, killing five people onboard and injuring two, federal authorities said Thursday.

29. Doctor: 5 clinic workers aboard plane that crashed -

THOMSON, Ga. (AP) - Investigators combed Georgia woods Thursday for clues about what led a small jet to overshoot an airport runway and crash, killing five people on board and injuring two others.

Among the seven passengers on board when the plane crashed Wednesday night were five people who worked for a vein clinic in Augusta in eastern Georgia, according to a doctor who works at another Vein Guys clinic in Nashville. It was not immediately known if any of them survived.

30. 28 more airports will test lower-hassle screening -

WASHINGTON (AP) — A new passenger screening program to make check-in more convenient for certain travelers is being expanded to 28 more major U.S. airports, the government said Wednesday. There will be no cost to eligible passengers, who would no longer have to remove their shoes and belts before they board flights.
