JOE ROGERS: MY TAKE
Times Square has long enjoyed top billing in this country for its New Year’s Eve celebration, and with good reason. Revelers started unofficially reveling there in 1904. And since 1907, an illuminated ball has descended there to count down the annual changeover for the throngs in attendance and what are now the millions more watching on TV.
TENNESSEE TITANS
Ran Carthon, you are officially on the clock. Yes, it’s understood that you were hired to work in better collaboration with Mike Vrabel than Jon Robinson did. But with a projected $100 million of cap space to work with and very few building blocks on the roster, a much-needed rebuild needs to begin ASAP.
What do the Titans do about Derrick Henry? Since Mike Vrabel took over as head coach in 2018, Henry has been the focal point of his offense, highlighted by a 2,000-yard rushing season in 2020.
Can it get any worse than it has been for the last two weeks? Well, yes it can, if the Titans come home after nearly a month on the road and lay an egg in Nissan Stadium against the lowly Carolina Panthers. Carolina has mustered just one win on the season. The Titans certainly don’t want to let them double that win total Sunday.
