Frye
The Tennessee Automotive Manufacturers Association is announcing former Nissan and Hyundai executive Ashley Frye as its first-ever executive director.
Frye will work with and be overseen by TAMA’s board, which is composed exclusively of executives from Tennessee’s automotive suppliers and original equipment manufacturers.
He will be tasked primarily with growing TAMA’s membership, increasing the quality of its programming and generating revenue through annual sponsorships. He will also serve as the official spokesperson for the organization, representing TAMA at automotive events throughout the state and across the country.
Frye began his 34-year career in automotive manufacturing with Nissan in 1981, working in a variety of roles for the company’s Smyrna facility. He rose to the rank of engineering manager and served in that role for eight years before joining Hyundai in 2003.
Prior to Frye’s retirement last year, his final six years was spent as the vice president of production at the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama plant in Montgomery, Ala. In this role, he led operations for the vehicle production division comprised of nearly 3000 employees.
Before entering the automotive sector, Frye served five years in the U.S. Army followed by eight years in the Tennessee Army National Guard with his last assignment as Commander of the 777th Maintenance Company.
Bradley welcomes Michael to the firm

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP has added Kevin C. Michael has joined the firm’s Nashville office as counsel on the Corporate and Securities and Construction and Procurement teams.
Michael represents owners, issuers, underwriters, placement agents, borrowers and lenders in connection with the procurement, development, financing and construction of various domestic and cross-border projects.
He also counsels clients regarding SEC corporate governance and compliance, annual and periodic reporting requirements, and compliance with existing contractual obligations.
Michael earned his J.D. from New York University and his B.A. from Washington University.
Council Capital names Jackson managing partner

Council Capital, a Nashville-based health care private equity firm, has named Grant Jackson as managing partner. Jackson first joined Council Capital in 2008.
With 15 years of experience in private equity, Jackson has focused entirely on investing in the health care services and health care IT sectors.
Prior to joining Council Capital, Jackson was a partner at The Aurora Funds in Durham, N.C., and also held positions at First Analysis Corporation and Accenture.
Jackson holds a degree from Florida State University and an MBA with distinction from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where he was a Siebel Scholar.

Yon named president of Hylant’s Nashville office

Hylant, one of the nation’s largest privately owned insurance brokerage firms, has promoted Michael Yon to the role of president of its Nashville office.
In his new role, Yon will be responsible for developing the strategic vision and driving the continued growth and profitability of the Nashville office.
Joining Hylant in 2002, Yon has designed and managed many diverse property and casualty insurance programs, including specialized solutions for pharmaceutical, medical device and clinical research affiliated companies. He has worked with large integrated health care organizations, fraternal associations, as well as both publicly and privately owned companies. Yon was instrumental in the development of Hylant’s Life Science Practice and most recently served as sales leader in the Hylant Cincinnati office.
Yon earned a degree in biology and environmental science from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Reierson joins Pinnacle as financial advisor

Jason Reierson has joined Pinnacle Financial Partners as a senior vice president and financial advisor.
Reierson is an 18-year veteran of SunTrust Bank, where he most recently served as a first vice president and relationship manager. He earned a degree in finance from the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee.
Reierson is currently based at Pinnacle’s downtown Nashville office but will be moving to the firm’s Brentwood office later this month.
Award-winning news director joins WKRN
Tucker
Tennessee native Elbert Tucker will be joining News 2 as news director.
He is currently the news director at WISH-TV in Indianapolis, Indiana, a Media General sister station.
Tucker has 32 years of television news experience, 26 years as a newsroom manager in television markets such as WKRC in Cincinnati, WBNS in Columbus, Ohio, WBRC in Birmingham and WTVC in Chattanooga.

Westin announces team for fall 2016 opening

The Westin Nashville, opening fall 2016 at 807 Clark Place, has appointed Michael McDavid as director of entertainment, Richard Yamaguchi as director of group sales and Jessica Burd as sales manager.
McDavid joins The Westin Nashville team having been involved with the entertainment industry for the past eight years, most recently serving VIPs at Lucchese apparel in The Gulch.
A native of Hawaii, Yamaguchi comes to The Westin Nashville with a background in the hotel industry, most recently as sales manager at the Sheraton Music City, after three years with the Hilton Nashville Downtown.
Burd has been affiliated for 12 years with Starwood Hotels and Resorts.
Sparks, Anglin promoted to senior VPs of claims

Brentwood Services Administrators Inc. has promoted Mark Sparks and Matt Anglin, AIC, to the position of senior vice president of claims.
Sparks has relocated from Birmingham to assume this position. He has more than 32 years of experience in the insurance industry. His career has included positions in claims management with both third party administrators and national carriers. Prior to joining BSA, he was claim director with Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, Inc., in Birmingham.
Previously serving as assistant vice president of claims, Anglin came to BSA in 1999 as a senior claim adjuster and worked his way up through the ranks to his current position overseeing BSA’s accident and health programs.
Anglin began his claims career as a claims adjuster in Liberty Mutual in 1994. He was named claims manager at Johnston & Associates in 1995.
TN Orthopaedic Alliance welcomes new physicians

Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance has hired Joseph D. Chenger, MD, and Jeffrey P. Lawrence, MD.
Chenger is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement, shoulder and general orthopaedics. Lawrence is a board-certified, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon, with a subspecialty certification in sports medicine, specializing in joint replacement and sports medicine.
Lawrence earned an undergraduate degree from Abilene Christian University and completed his medical degree at the University of Tennessee. After receiving his medical degree, he completed a general surgery internship and a five-year orthopaedic surgery residency, including one-year as chief orthopaedic resident at the University of Tennessee.
Chenger
Chenger earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Lethbridge, in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. His medical degree was earned at the University of Calgary, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. His internship was served at Foothills Hospital in Calgary, followed by residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Calgary, where he was chief resident.
Chenger is at TOA’s Centennial location, while Lawrence is at the Centennial and Spring Hill locations.
Southeast Venture hires director of design services
Osborne
Nashville-based commercial real estate and design firm Southeast Venture has hired Kerry Osborne, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, as director of design services.
Osborne will oversee design services alongside Paul Plummer, principal of design services, and Ginny Caldwell, director of interior design.
Most recently, Osborne served as director of the architecture department for AECOM, an engineering consultant firm in Indianapolis. There he worked on commercial and industrial projects in health care, hospitality, transportation and education.
His projects included the Rolls-Royce Lift Fan Assembly Maintenance Plant in Plainfield Ind., Purdue University’s Biochemistry Lab and the IndyGo Downtown Transit Center. Prior to AECOM, Osborne was a project manager for Axis Architecture + Interiors.
Osborne brings over 20 years of architecture experience, as well as experience in team management, project management and business development.
