CHICAGO (AP) — A new poll says more than 40 percent of America's baby boomers stayed with their employer for more than 20 years, a reflection of the growing national trend toward job mobility.
The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll of 1,000 Americans 50 and older also shows that of those with at least two decades of service with a single employer, 18 percent have stayed at least 30 years.
Pensions appeared to play a major role in whether to change employers.
The survey found that about half of those who are excited about retirement, but just a third of those who are anxious, have had at least 20 years with a single employer.
