NASHVILLE (AP) - The next Tennessee Blue Book will be named after former Senate Majority Leader Howard Baker, who was known as the "The Great Conciliator" during his high profile Washington career that also included a stint as chief of staff to President Ronald Reagan.
Baker, who died last year, cut to the core of the 1973 Watergate hearings by asking of then-President Richard Nixon: "What did the president know and when did he know it?"
The Blue Book is Tennessee's official manual on state government.
Previous editions were dedicated to former University of Tennessee women's basketball coach Pat Summit; state House Speaker Beth Harwell and Senate Speaker Ron Ramsey; fallen soldiers; former State Supreme Court Justice Frank Drowota; then-Gov. Phil Bredesen; murdered state Sen. Tommy Burks and longtime state Comptroller Bill Snodgrass.
