NASHVILLE (AP) — HCA is donating $1 million to Tennessee State University for scholarships.
According to the school, the gift will come in intervals of $250,000 over four years and support students studying health sciences.
In announcing the gift on Friday, HCA Chairman and CEO R. Milton Johnson said, "We are proud to support our neighbor, TSU, and we have many graduates who have done an outstanding job for us."
TSU President Glenda Glover said the scholarship support is needed as the university continues its efforts to produce well-educated and trained health care professionals. TSU's College of Health Sciences currently offers degrees in 11 disciplines.
