MARYVILLE (AP) — DENSO Manufacturing Tennessee's plant in Maryville is expanding with a $400 million investment expected to bring 500 new jobs to East Tennessee.
Gov. Bill Haslam and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Randy Boyd announced the expansion Tuesday.
DENSO has a workforce of more than 3,100, making it Blount County's largest employer.
A news release from Boyd's office said the automotive components and systems manufacturer will expand its manufacturing capabilities and build a new warehouse.
DENSO produces starters, alternators, instrument clusters and electronic components and systems. The Maryville location includes four manufacturing plants on 194 acres and has undergone eight major expansions.
