MURFREESBORO (AP) — A partnership agreement signed last year between Middle Tennessee State University and Guangxi University in southern China is bearing fruit.
According to MTSU, school President Sidney McPhee was in China on Wednesday to meet with Guangxi administrators when he learned that 140 Chinese students will be coming to the Murfreesboro campus.
The students will enroll in a "three-plus-two" program that allows Guangxi students to finish their undergraduate degrees and earn graduate degrees while at MTSU. The Guangxi students will enroll at MTSU as soon as they complete the necessary course requirements on their campus.
McPhee and Guangxi administrators also agreed that six professors from Guangxi will come to MTSU in the fall to collaborate with faculty and learn more about the Murfreesboro campus.
