Vanderbilt building reopens after scare

NASHVILLE (AP) - The main administration building at Vanderbilt University has reopened after a brief scare because of a suspicious envelope.

University spokesman Jim Patterson says police, the Nashville Fire Department and Hazmat crews cleared the building after someone found the envelope at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday.

School officials evacuated Kirkland Hall was evacuated after the discovery, but employees have returned.
