4th Annual Music City Festival & BBQ Championship
This two-day festival a barbecue competition with professional and amateur barbecue teams along 1st Ave competing for more than $25,000 in prizes and cash and the Cool Cars & Hot Bike competition on 2nd Ave. The barbecue competition is one of few that enjoys sanctioning from both the Memphis BBQ Network and the Kansas City BBQ Society. Carnton Sunset Concert Series
This annual summer series wraps up its monthly outdoor concerts on the lawn of Carnton Plantation with Bad Dog, featuring classic rock from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Advance tickets are $10 for adults (13+) or $12 at the gate. Children 6-12 are $5 each, and children 5 and younger are free. Tickets are available at Carnton and The Carter House. All concerts are from 6-8 p.m., with gates opening at 4:30 p.m. Wrist bands will be issued for re-entry, and parking is free. Patrons are encouraged to bring lounging items such as lawn chairs or blankets. Guests may bring their own food and drink, but both will also be available for purchase.
