NASHVILLE (AP) - Victims' rights group You Have the Power is celebrating its 20-year anniversary and will be honoring Nashville District Attorney General Torry Johnson with the first annual Powerhouse Award.

Johnson has been the top prosecutor in Davidson County since 1987. He will be recognized for his work for victims during a luncheon ceremony on Tuesday. He is being credited with his help creating what is now the Nashville Children's Alliance, which helps abused kids. He is also being praised for developing a highly-specialized group of prosecutors in his office, who have expertise in drunk driving offenses, child abuse, domestic violence, fraud and other types of crime.

You Have the Power was founded by former Tennessee First Lady Andrea Conte after she became a victim of a crime.
