I-40 traffic slows by sandblasting in Nashville

NASHVILLE (AP) - Weekend travel at the east end of the downtown Nashville loop could be slow.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation advises that the right lane of Interstate 40 westbound will be closed under Interstate 24.

The closure takes effect at 8 p.m. Friday and lasts until 6 a.m. Monday.

A contractor is sandblasting and priming the Silliman Evans bridge in preparation for repainting it.
