CANTON, Miss. (AP) — Nissan Motor Co. will assemble its Murano crossover vehicle at its Mississippi plant beginning in 2014.
It would be the eighth model that Nissan assembles at its Mississippi plant just north of Jackson.
The company made the announcement Thursday at a ceremony that included Gov. Phil Bryant, part of a year of celebrations of the plant's 10th anniversary.
The company already assembles the Altima sedan, Armada and Xterra SUVs, Titan and Frontier pickup trucks and NV commercial and passenger vans in Canton.
Nissan officials say they would also set out a clearer route for temporary workers at the plant to join the ranks of Nissan's full-time employees.
