NASHVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Department of Transportation has been awarded a $10 million federal grant to assist a number of transit agencies across the state.
The so-called "State of Good Repair Grant" will be used to replace transit vehicles that have exceeded their useful life based on years in service or mileage. TDOT collaborated with 15 transit agencies to get the grant from the Federal Transit Administration.
Participating agencies included: Nashville MTA, Memphis Area Transit Authority, Knoxville Area Transit, Johnson City Transit, Jackson Transit Authority, Murfreesboro Transit, City of Sevierville, Mid-Cumberland Human Resource Agency, Southwest HRA, Southeast Tennessee HRA, Northwest HRA, Upper Cumberland HRA, South Central Tennessee Development District, First Tennessee HRA and East Tennessee HRA.
