Lifepoint names new VP, corporate secretary

LifePoint Hospitals has promoted Christy Green to vice president, corporate secretary. In her new role, Green will work directly with LifePoint’s board and will oversee various corporate functions.

She began her tenure at LifePoint as vice president, assistant corporate secretary in June 2011.

Before joining the company, she led her own corporate law practice, working with several in-house legal departments and small businesses.

Prior to that, she was vice president and senior counsel for Affinion Benefits Group, LLC, serving as the lead corporate attorney in Affinion’s Franklin office and managing the legal department.

Green also served as vice president and associate counsel at Comdata Network, Inc. and corporate counsel at Ardent Health Services, LLC. She began her career asa corporate and health care attorney at Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis LLP.tch & Davis LLP.

Avenue Bank announces promotions, new hires

Avenue Bank has promoted two and added six to its team:

Seth Butler has been promoted to senior vice president and commercial real estate team leader. Butler has 16 years of banking experience, the last 11 of which have been dedicated to the Nashville commercial real estate market. He joined Avenue Bank at the company’s founding in 2007.

Andres Tapia has been named vice president and Bank Secrecy Act officer. He started with the bank in 2007 and most recently served as bank support manager. He brings more than 10 years of banking experience.

David Driggs is a new vice president, mortgage loan officer, for Avenue’s mortgage team. Driggs brings more than 20 years of experience in mortgage lending, including experience in loan production, as well as managing branches and divisions that consistently produced in excess of $100 million in annual loan volume.

Richard Stone joins Avenue’s commercial banking team as a commercial relationship manager. He has been a commercial banker for the past eight years.

The bank has added four new Concierge Bankers:

  • Stephanie Carr at the Cummins Station branch. Prior to joining Avenue, she worked for an IT staffing and recruiting firm in Franklin.
  • Sharon Mejia at the bank’s Cummins Station branch.
  • Josh Slater at the West End branch. After a stint playing professional basketball in Germany, he returned to Nashville to begin his professional career at Avenue. He is a Nashville native and played college basketball at Lipscomb University.
  • Emeline Thrash at the Cool Springs location. Prior to joining Avenue, she spent her summers working at a community bank in Ashland City.

Centerstone of America announces board

Centerstone, a national provider of community-based mental health and addiction services, has announced members and officers of its 2012-2013 board of directors.

They are:

Creative strategist added to Cabedge Design

Cabedge Design, LLC, a Web-centric design and alignment marketing firm and an Atiba Company, has added Brett Henley to its group of creative designers and business strategists.

Henley has worked professionally as a writer and communicator for several years, helping hundreds of brands develop highly-targeted communication strategy. He has partnered with organizations from a diverse range of industries, including industrial manufacturing and B2B, deregulated energy and renewable, telecom and small-to-medium B2C.

Haven Behavioral adds executive VP, COO

Haven Behavioral Healthcare, Inc., a provider of behavioral healthcare for adults, senior citizens and active-duty military personnel, has added Scott W. Kardenetz as executive vice president and chief operations officer.

In this capacity, Kardenetz’s primary responsibilities include overseeing Haven Behavioral’s current operations and starting up new facilities based on the company’s hospital-in-hospital model.

Most recently, Kardenetz served as divisional vice president in the Nashville regional office of Universal Health Services. In this position, he supervised 14 healthcare facilities, including psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment centers, outpatient services, foster care delivery and physician employees, with aggregate revenues of approximately $300 million.

Prior to that position, Kardenetz was division president at Nashville-based Psychiatric Solutions, Inc, where he held similar responsibilities.

Earlier, Kardenetz was vice president of operations at Ardent Health Services.

Farnsworth named to AOPA board of trustees

Amanda C. Farnsworth has been named to the board of trustees of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, one of 11 members of the AOPA board and the only member from Tennessee.

Farnsworth recently retired from a 27-year career at Louisville, Ky.-based investment brokerage firm J.J.B Hilliard, W.L. Lyons. She serves on various corporate boards including Optimum Solutions, Inc., Franklin American Mortgage Co., Precision Energy Solutions, and Consumers Insurance Group where she is chairman.

The Vanderbilt graduate serves on several local boards, including the Boys & Girls Clubs, the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, and the Ensworth School Board of Trust.

Buchanan joins Siskind Susser

Siskind Susser, P.C. has added Bruce Buchanan as an attorney in the firm’s Nashville Office, where he represents employers and individuals in all aspects of immigration law, as well as employers in employment/labor law matters.

His expertise within immigration law is employer compliance, where he has guided three employers through Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) audits without any of the three paying any fines or penalties.

Buchanan earned his law degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1982 and his undergraduate degree in 1979 from Florida State University, where he graduated magna cum laude. Before going into private practice nine years ago, Buchanan served as senior trial specialist for the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) for 20 years as well as an Adjunct Professor at William H. Bowen UALR School of Law.

He is past chair of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Immigration Law Section as well as the current editor of TBA’s Labor and Employment Law Section Newsletter and the TBA’s Immigration Law Section Newsletter.

Crosslin Technologies adds Clancy as principal

Crosslin Technologies has announced the hiring of Shane W. Clancy as principal.

Clancy comes to Crosslin with more than 17 years of experience providing information security and risk management consulting services for customers within the legal, IT, and security communities, and has also built and managed information security programs for agencies within the departments of Defense, Justice, Transportation and Homeland Security, among others.

He was previously employed by Securicon, LLC, where he served as the director of federal risk management.

Clancy has also authored the following publications: Into the Darkness: Dissection and Explanation of Proven Attach Source Code, Federal Bureau of Investigation Open Source Software Evaluation Process, and DHS ICE FISMA Performance Plan (Fiscal Years 2009 and 2010).

VUMC’s Beauchamp, Vermund elected to IOM

Daniel Beauchamp, M.D., chair of the Section of Surgical Sciences, and Sten Vermund, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Vanderbilt Institute for Global Health, have been elected to the Institute of Medicine (IOM).

With more than 1,900 members, the IOM is the health arm of the National Academies, serving as an adviser to the nation to improve health and promote health-related research.

The National Academies, which also comprises the National Academy of Sciences (NAS), National Academy of Engineering (NAE) and National Research Council, are private nonprofit institutions that provide advice on some of the most pressing challenges facing the nation and the world.

Vanderbilt University now has 25 current faculty members who have been elected by their peers to the National Academies in recognition of excellence in their fields. Eighteen are members of the IOM; seven others are members of the NAS or NAE.

Also among the 70 new IOM members announced this week was Wayne Riley, M.D., M.P.H., MBA, professor of Medicine in the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, secondary to his primary appointment as the president and chief executive officer for Meharry Medical College.

UL Puresafety names new VP of health care

UL PureSafety, a provider of workplace health and safety software solutions, has named Tom Neville vice president of health care. In this newly created role, Neville will lead the company’s continued expansion in the health care sector, providing strategic direction and managing a team of sales resources.

UL PureSafety’s health care group has expanded to support demand for its safety and occupational health management software, including SYSTOC and Occupational Health Manager (OHM).

Neville comes to UL PureSafety from IMC HealthCare, where he served as senior VP of operations, overseeing strategic planning, technology and HR for the company’s 25 clinics nationwide.
