NASHVILLE (AP) - Tennessee will receive approximately $2 million as part of a national agreement to resolve a false claim pricing case with McKesson Corp.
Attorney General Bob Cooper said Friday TennCare was among the state Medicaid programs that overpaid for a variety of prescription drugs. The national agreement totaled more than $151 million for states.
The state alleged that McKesson reported inflated average wholesale prices to First Data Bank, a publisher of drug prices, thereby increasing many prices used by Tennessee to set reimbursement.
Cooper said in a statement that Tennessee has no tolerance for any corporation that intentionally manipulates an already complicated system.
