NASHVILLE (AP) - The Tennessee Senate paid tribute to country music legend Charlie Daniels Wednesday morning.

Daniels sang the national anthem before being honored with a resolution.

Daniels is best known for his 1979 hit "The Devil Went Down to Georgia." The Charlie Daniels Band earned a Grammy for best country vocal for the song.

Daniels suffered a mild stroke while snowmobiling in Colorado in 2010.

The 75-year-old told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he's glad to be honored by his state and that he's feeling "real good."
