NASHVILLE (AP) — Two young Nashville men have survived a tumble down a bluff overlooking the Cumberland River.

According to WSMV-TV (http://bit.ly/I52Fmi ), police were called early Monday after the incident north of the city's downtown area.

The victims were with other friends when they fell 30-40 feet down a bluff. One of them landed in the river, but was not swept away. The other fell onto the riverbank. Firefighters launched a water rescue to reach the men, who were taken to Vanderbilt University Hospital with non-critical injuries.

Metro Nashville Police said some of the men's friends were issued misdemeanor citations for possession of drug paraphernalia.
