MURFREESBORO (AP) - Middle Tennessee State University has opened its new Center for Innovation in Media.
Reflecting changes in the media that now require journalists to be masters of multiple formats, the $700,000 center combines the offices of the student newspaper, student-run record label, student-run cable television station and two radio stations - the student-run station and a public radio station.
Assistant Journalism Professor Leon Alligood said in a news release that the new media center is trailblazing, giving MTSU students leg-up in the changing world of journalism.
The center is part of the College of Mass Communications.
