H.G. Hill Realty Company has created a tentative timeline for the redevelopment of a section of Hillsboro Village at 21st Avenue South and Acklen Avenue, estimating the design will be ready for review by the Metro Design Review Committee by late this summer.
Based on this timeline, the company estimates construction will start early 2013. The company says affected tenants have been notified that their leases will expire on Jan. 31, 2013.
Last month, H.G. Hill Realty CEO Jimmy Granbery told the Ledger his company had decided not to submit an application to the Metro Planning Commission to amend the neighborhood’s urban design overlay, opting instead to explore the development possibilities under the current parameters of the UDO adopted more than a decade ago.
“It is our desire to have any plan that we pursue be embraced by the Hillsboro Village community and, to keep our tenants informed, we will make these plans public as they are solidified,” Granbery said.
The development team for the project includes Manual Zeitlin Architects, Hawkins Partners and Barge Cauthen.
