NASHVILLE (AP) — A former Vanderbilt University Law School manager has been arrested in the theft of more than $600,000 from the university.
Jason Hunt was arrested on Friday in Sims, Ark., where he is awaiting extradition to Tennessee, according to The Tennessean (http://tnne.ws/wvuCn8 ).
The law school fired the 34-year-old Hunt in November after an internal investigation. The university said Hunt's duties included processing financial transactions for the law school. Officials have not said how the theft occurred.
Hunt was being held in the Montgomery County, Ark., Jail in lieu of $1 million bond. A statement by the law school said Hunt waived extradition and should be brought back to Nashville soon.
