NASHVILLE (AP) - A $5 million donation will fund expansion of wound-care services at Baptist Hospital in Nashville.

The Tennessean reports that the gift from the Deborah and C.A. Craig II Family Foundation is the largest given to the Baptist Hospital Foundation, which raises money to support hospital services, employees and patients (http://tnne.ws/vHLqbi).

It will also fund construction of a 20,000-square-foot building that will house a center for diabetic patients.

Dr. A. Brian Wilcox is medical director of the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center at Baptist Hospital.

He says more than 5 million people suffer from chronic or non-healing wounds, such as pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, non-healing surgical wounds, circulatory ulcers and other conditions.
