NASHVILLE (AP) — Former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales will be teaching at Belmont University College of Law starting next year as the Doyle Rogers Distinguished Chair of Law.
The Nashville-based Christian university announced in a press release Monday the establishment of the new endowment and its first appointment. Gonzales served as the U.S. Attorney General from 2003 to 2007 under then-President George W. Bush.
Jeff Kinsler, the founding dean of Belmont's new College of Law, said his insight and experience at the federal and state level will be an immeasurable resource for students and faculty. He will begin his position on Jan. 2, 2012.
The endowment is named after prominent Florida attorney Doyle Rogers, who is married to Barbara Massey Rogers, a member of Belmont's Board of Trustees.
