MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (AP) — President Barack Obama says he makes no apologies for Wall Street regulation and environmental rules and doesn't buy the GOP charge they're costing jobs.
Answering questions at an online town hall in California on Monday, Obama said his administration has scrapped some rules, and is looking for more to drop. But he doesn't agree with the Republican view that a wholesale rollback would be a spur to growth.
Obama spoke during an event hosted by LinkedIn, the career-focused social networking site, midway through a three-state Western swing. The event was at the Computer History Museum, near LinkedIn's Silicon Valley headquarters.
