LEBANON (AP) — Online retailer Amazon.com says it will open a fulfillment center in Lebanon.
The company announcement brings to three the number of Amazon shipping centers that are expected to bring a total of 1,200 jobs to Tennessee, according to The Tennessean.
The other centers are planned to open in Chattanooga and Cleveland and had been announced earlier.
During a stop in Spring Hill, Gov. Bill Haslam said the administration is pleased that new jobs are being grown in Tennessee.
The issue of exempting Amazon from state sales taxes has caused controversy, but Haslam has said he is committed to the deal struck by the previous administration to attract the world's largest online retailer to the state.
