NASHVILLE (AP) — An estimated 5,000 members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will meet in Nashville Saturday through Wednesday for the church's biennial General Assembly.
The theme for the assembly is "Tell It," taken from one of Moses' last sermons before the crossing of the Jordan River into the Promised Land.
Marian Wright Edelman, founder and leader of the Children's Defense Fund, will be a featured speaker Wednesday during a closing event. She is expected to speak about advocacy for children.
