Taylor joins Bone McAllester Norton

Stephanie R. Taylor has joined the law firm of Bone McAllester Norton PLLC and will oversee the firm’s Entertainment Law group

Taylor’s emphasis will be on copyright law, music publishing, record labels, media and general business matters. She represents clients involved with the creation, production, and management of creative works including recording artists, songwriters, producers, managers, music publishers, promoters and music industry entrepreneurs.

Prior to joining Bone McAllester Norton, she owned her own law firm, Stephanie Taylor Law. She represented artists and music industry professionals and negotiated entertainment industry contracts for artists and also licensing and distribution deals for original television programs. Ms. Taylor also has been a professor of music business at Middle Tennessee State University and directed MTSU’s Recording Industry Exchange program with Russia.

Ms. Taylor earned her Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and received her MBA with an emphasis on Music Business from Belmont University. She is a member of the American Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association, where she is a TBA member of the Continuing Law Education committee in the Entertainment and Sports Law section. She also serves with the Volunteer Lawyers & Professionals for the Arts (VLPA).

Ms. Taylor also is a classically trained violinist and country/bluegrass fiddle player and was recently honored to be inducted into the South Dakota Old Time Fiddlers Hall of Fame.

Fifth Third announces 6 promotions, additions

Brian Wille joins the bank as a healthcare credit officer. Brian is a graduate of Duke University with an MBA from Belmont University and was previously employed at First Tennessee Bank. He has worked in Commercial Banking for 13 years with a focus on the health care industry for 10 years.

Martina Goldthreate has been promoted to financial center manager at the Bell Road banking center in Antioch. She previously worked as a personal banker at the Northlake Village banking center in Hermitage. She is a graduate of Tennessee State University and has worked in banking five years.

Eric Soloway has been promoted to financial center manager at the Mill Creek banking center in Brentwood. Eric was previously a personal banker and has worked in Retail banking for two and a-half years.

Jared Autrey has been promoted to financial center manager at the Northlake Village banking center in Hermitage. Jared was previously a financial center manager at the Indian Hills banking center in Murfreesboro. He is a graduate of the University of Memphis and has worked in banking for 11 years.

Keith Collison joins the bank as a mortgage loan officer at Murphy Road. Keith attended Mississippi State University and was previously employed at Wells Fargo Home Mortgage. He has worked in the mortgage industry for 14 years.

Jerius Oliver Sr. signs on as a personal banker. Jerius was previously employed at Bank of America and has worked in retail banking for 14 years.

Oak Ridge manager joins Barge Waggoner

Robert J. Brown, PE, who was deputy manager of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge Operations Office until his retirement in March 2011, has joined Barge Waggoner Sumner & Cannon, Inc. (BWSC) as client manager in the firm’s federal business unit.

Brown held a variety of leadership, management and engineering positions during his 38-year career with the Oak Ridge Operations office of the Department of Energy (DOE). At BWSC, Brown will lead business development and client relations with DOE prime and subcontractors working from the firm’s Knoxville office.

Brown graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 1968 with a degree in Civil engineering and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Tennessee. A resident of Farragut, Brown is vice chairman of the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.

1700 Midtown wins development award

The Nashville chapter of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) recently honored 1700 Midtown with an “Excellence in Development” award. The modern apartment building at State Street and 17th Avenue was one of eight development projects honored at this year’s awards ceremony.

Others were 12th and Paris, Franklin Police headquarters, Hotel Indigo, Piedmont Natural Gas operations center, The Sawtooth Building, Terrazzo and Westhaven.

Bristol Development Group developed 1700 Midtown. Architecture for the 170-unit, two four-story buildings was designed by Southeast Venture, LLC. Project partners also included Hodgson & Douglas, Doster Construction Company, Barge Cauthen & Associates Inc., Smith Seckman Reid Inc., Sterling Engineering and Anderson Design Studio.

ULI judged projects based on their design, land use, contribution to and reflection of the neighborhood, their use of a public/private partnership, environmental sensitivity and financial viability.

The ULI panel of judges described the 1700 Midtown project as setting “the design trend of future reinvestment in the area.”

Salvation Army names four to advisory board

The Salvation Army Nashville Area Command has announced the following appointments to our Advisory Board:

Everton Heron, a native of Kingston, Jamaica, has a unique background with a combination of national business, entrepreneurial enterprise, athletics, strategic leadership and Kingdom purpose. A graduate of Marist College, Everton received a degree in computer information systems and was a member of the MAAC championship football team.

William Dick is a human resources professional with more than eight years of retirement plan management, customer service and operations experience working closely with Human Resource Staffs. Bill earned a master of accountancy at Jack C. Massey School of Business from Belmont University following graduation Vanderbilt University with a degree in Economics.

Bill Zelenik is founder and CEO of Millennium Brokerage Group, a life insurance distribution company founded in September 1998. Millennium has 10 regional offices which provide life insurance based financial solutions to traditional independent producers, institutional outlets (banks and broker-dealers), other professionals (certified public accounts, financial planners, and property / casualty agencies), private and family offices.

Roddy Story is executive vice president and manager of commercial banking for The Bank of Tennessee. Prior to his banking career, Story was a co-owner of The Children’s Shop, a three store chain in Nashville and Atlanta. Story received his MBA from Vanderbilt with a concentration in finance and marketing.
