Owl’s Hill names board of directors

Owl’s Hill Nature Sanctuary is a fully protected, 160-acre green space near Brentwood just south of Murray Lane and east of Hillsboro Road. A vibrant wildlife sanctuary with hiking trails, it is dedicated to environmental education and research, the restoration of native flora and fauna, the conservation and protection of natural resources, and the appreciation and enjoyment of nature.

Conservation programs in place manage a wide variety of plant and animal life, including old-growth trees, cedar glades, wildflowers, butterflies, amphibians and Eastern Bluebirds. Owl’s Hill is open to groups and individuals on a reservation-only basis. Information: owlshill.org.

Porter earns PFS certification

Chuck Porter, CPA, financial planner, was recently awarded the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) Credential by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

The PFS Credential, established in 1987 by the AICPA, is granted to qualified CPAs with considerable professional experience in financial planning. CPA/PFS Credential holders are ranked among the most qualified financial planners in the marketplace.

Porter has more than 22 years of financial and investment related experience working with a major regional financial services firm and private companies. He established his own office in 2008.

In addition to being a financial planner and CPA, Porter holds a series 7, series 6, and a Tennessee health and life insurance license which means that he can provide tax advice along with planning and investment advice.

He is a 1988 graduate of Belmont University with a degree in accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Hendersonville morning Rotary Club.

Three added to Seigenthaler team

Seigenthaler Public Relations, Inc. (SPR) has announced the addition of three new members to its team:

Victoria Cameron, graphic designer, develops creative materials and campaigns for SPR’s wide range of clients. Prior to joining SPR, Cameron served as a graphic designer at Powell Creative. She also has worked as a marketing coordinator at Brasfield & Gorrie and graphic designer for Cassidy Turley in Nashville. Cameron received her bachelor’s degree in graphic design from Auburn University in 2009.

Lauren Robarts, who recently completed an internship at SPR, now works with the client services teams as an account coordinator. Her clients include Mekong Blue, Nashville School of Law, Nyack College, Lipscomb University, and Adventure Science Center. A 2010 graduate of Lipscomb University, Robarts obtained a bachelor’s degree in organizational communications. Robarts also completed a marketing and communications internship with Advent, a Nashville-based marketing firm, in 2010.

Logan Simmons, account coordinator, also joins the client services team after completing an internship with the company. Simmons works with a range of clients including Simplex Healthcare and Centerstone of Tennessee. Prior to joining SPR, she served as a technical recruiter and account manager at Insight Global, Inc. in Brentwood. While obtaining her bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Simmons also completed an internship with the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital in the Community Relations Department in 2009.
