EO Nashville is the largest EO chapter in the U.S. and the third-largest in the world with 355 members averaging $3.9 billion in total chapter sales, employing over 15,000 individuals. EO Nashville also currently has the most female members of any chapter in the country.

Nashville General selects chief development officer

Jennifer Balog has joined Nashville General Hospital as chief development officer.

Balog has more than 15 years of experience in development and a 16-year career as a radiation therapist. She has held roles in various organizations, including the American Red Cross, the United Way and the American Heart Association. Her leadership experience includes serving as the foundation director at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton, New York, and Iredell Health System in Statesville, North Carolina. She also worked as assistant vice president for development at Upstate Medicine University in Syracuse, New York.

She earned an associate degree in radiation therapy from Erie Community College in Buffalo, New York, a bachelor’s degree in health care administration from Rochester Institute of Technology and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Utica College. Additionally, she holds certifications as a fundraising executive and a chartered adviser in philanthropy.

Pathway Lending promotes Hickey to senior VP, director

Keith Hickey has been promoted by Pathway Lending to senior vice president and director of banking relations. Hickey will serve as the primary contact for Pathway’s bank partners and stakeholders throughout the state.

Hickey joined Pathway Lending in 2018 and has held various leadership positions, based out of the Knoxville office. He is a graduate of The Stonier School of Banking at the University of Pennsylvania, in partnership with The Wharton Business School. He now serves as a faculty member at the school.

As a Community Development Financial Institution, Pathway Lending partners with financial institutions to provide capital opportunities to small businesses that may not qualify for traditional banking options.

Conn to lead state education group

The Tennessee Independent Colleges and Universities Association board of directors has named Cameron Conn, Ph.D., as the association’s new president. Conn brings 15-plus years of experience in higher education administration and will succeed Dr. Claude Pressnell, Jr., Ed.D., who is retiring after 28 years of service.

Conn, a native of Dyersburg, served in numerous roles at Baptist Health Sciences University during the last six years and is the university’s assistant dean of administration, operations, and services for the College of Osteopathic Medicine. During her tenure, she was instrumental in launching new programs and significantly contributed to the college’s strategic planning, facilitating major accreditation processes, increasing enrollment, and securing substantial grants and partnerships.

Conn has earned degrees from Union University and Florida State University before beginning her career in student services at Mississippi College and later transitioning to Baylor University. There she served as assistant dean for undergraduate curriculum and student affairs at the Robbins College of Health and Human Sciences.

Pierce PR adds account manager

Pierce Public Relations has hired Jordan Holt as account manager.

In Holt’s role, she leads the execution of digital and social media strategies, data analysis and media relations in support of client goals. Her background in digital advertising combined with her love of writing enables her to translate program metrics into powerful qualitative and quantitative outcomes.

Jordan previously served as an account manager at Parachute Media, where she drove digital and creative strategy, content creation, social media management and copywriting for a variety of local and national clients.

Holt is a graduate of The University of Alabama with degrees in news media and communication studies. During her time at UA, she served as editorial director of Capstone Agency, named the top student-run communications firm in the nation three times by PRSSA, and as an ambassador for the College of Communication and Information Sciences.

Belmont taps Allen for executive VP role

Belmont University has appointed Harry L. Allen as executive vice president for financial excellence and chief financial officer.

Allen was most recently served as co-founder and chief relationship officer at Studio Bank, the first locally headquartered bank launched in Nashville since 2008. Allen will continue to serve Studio Bank on its board of directors as vice chairman.

He also served Avenue Bank for six years as senior vice president and director of nonprofit banking and community investment, where he launched the organization’s nonprofit and institutional industry segment. He has also held leadership roles at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee and Suntrust Bank.

A double graduate of Belmont University, Allen holds both a bachelor of business administration in international management and an MBA from the University’s Jack C. Massey College of Business.

Donelson-Hermitage YMCA honors its top volunteer

The Donelson-Hermitage Family YMCA has named Bryan Mayhood its Community Impact Award recipient. Mayhood is vice president of marketing at GSF Media and has served the Y’s board as a former chair and volunteer sports coach. The award recognizes his volunteer efforts during the 2023 fiscal year.

BJ Keener, executive director of the Donelson-Hermitage Y, said Mayhood consistently lifts the mission of the Y, builds strong relationships and strengthens community in a “positive and engaging way.”

Along with serving on the board, Mayhood has served as a volunteer coach for many seasons of basketball and soccer.
