Civil litigator joins tpmbLAW as partner

Stefan Richard “Rick” Hughes has joined Taylor, Pigue, Marchetti and Blair PLLC (tpmbLAW) as a partner.

Hughes, who has three decades in private practice in Nashville and Bowling Green, will continue his focus on civil litigation.

Hughes’s practice experience includes representing businesses, employers and individuals. He is admitted to the bar in Kentucky and Tennessee; U.S. District Court Eastern and Western District of Kentucky; U.S. District Courts Middle and Eastern Districts of Tennessee; U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and Supreme Court of the United States.

Hughes is a graduate of the J. David Rosenberg College of Law at the University of Kentucky. He earned an undergraduate degree in economics from Transylvania University. A native of Wuerzburg, Germany, he holds dual citizenship in the United States and Germany.

Conflict Resolution Center picks executive director

Shannon Wagner has been named executive director at Nashville Conflict Resolution Center, following the retirement of Sara Figal. Wagner has spent the last year as assistant director, focusing particularly on financial and programmatic capacity building.

Wagner previously worked in development with Renewal House, the Nashville Public Library Foundation, Martha O’Bryan Center, the Nashville Ballet and Lupus Foundation of America, Mid-South.

Wagner earned a master’s degree in conflict management from Lipscomb University. She is a graduate of Arizona State University, where she earned degrees in communications and political science, as well as a certificate in nonprofit management and leadership.

Nashville Bar Foundation names fellows, award winner

The Nashville Bar Foundation has named its 2024 class of fellows, which recognizes colleagues within the Nashville Bar who have been in practice for at least 10 years, made outstanding contributions to the legal profession and to the public good, and demonstrated a strong commitment to the goals of the Foundation.

The NBF also presented the David Rutherford Award to William T. Ramsey of Neal & Harwell. This award is given to a fellow who exemplifies the memory and ideals of David Rutherford, which include professionalism, charitable contributions in the legal field and in the community as a whole, and the spirit of collegiality among bench and bar.

Pinnacle names Yoder president and CEO

Pinnacle Construction Partners, LLC has appointed construction veteran Josh Yoder as its new president and chief executive officer. This announcement comes after the retirement of Pinnacle’s former president and CEO Cordell Kidd.

Yoder will work directly with Pinnacle owner Michael Carter to provide strategic direction and planning for the organization. He also will lead the team of Pinnacle employees and contractors, manage business development efforts, oversee operational activities and financial processes, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Previously, Yoder was a senior estimator at W.E. O’Neil Construction, a nationally ranked general contractor. He has also served as senior pre-construction project manager at Reeves Young, a fully-integrated construction company, and served as pre-construction project manager at T.W. Frierson Contractor, Inc.

Google Fiber taps Fischer as South Region GM

Google Fiber has selected Nick Fischer as South Region general manager, covering market operations across Tennessee, Alabama and Florida. Fischer will guide strategy and operations to connect residents and small businesses with Google Fiber gigabit internet.

Since joining GFiber in 2014, Fischer has held various leadership roles in GFiber’s Nashville office and most recently served as chief of staff to the chief operating officer. He previously worked as a sourcing manager for AT Kearney.

Fischer earned a degree in civil engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from The Ohio State University.

Connico adds 3 to growing team

Connico, a Mount Juliet-based consultancy that services the aviation, civil, transportation, institutional, commercial and industrial markets, has added three team members, Andrew Skidmore as a cost specialist, Winsome Jackson as a project specialist and Tucker Thomas as an accounting assistant.

Skidmore joins the team with more than 10 years of industry experience and a degree in architecture from the University of Michigan. He will assist with cost estimating and cost analysis for numerous projects and clients.

Bringing nearly 10 years of construction industry experience, Jackson will be assisting with estimating and value engineering in her role as a project specialist at Connico. She holds a degree in civil engineering from the University of South Florida and is pursuing a Project Management Professional certification.

Thomas joined the Connico with more than five years of administrative experience and a business degree from Southern New Hampshire University. He will be assisting with vendor and client relations at Connico.
