Tennessee executive residence open house starts Friday
NASHVILLE (AP) — Gov. Bill Haslam and first lady Crissy Haslam are inviting Tennessee residents to tour the executive residence and see its holiday decorations beginning Friday and continuing through Dec. 16.
The first lady's office says the theme for the sixth annual open house is "Tennessee Agriculture." Trees will be decorated in celebration of produce, livestock and forestry products from across Tennessee.
Ornaments created by Tennessee students in 4-H, FFA and Ag in the Classroom last summer will decorate trees in Conservation Hall.
The General Federation of Women's Clubs of Tennessee built a 10-foot tree made of 10,300 children's books.
Hours for the open house are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Tours are free, but an online reservation is required at www.tn.gov/firstlady/section/home-for-the-holidays.
