Tennesseans who might be Washington-bound
MTSU political science professor Kent Syler foresees several opportunities for Tennesseans to find a place in the administrations of Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, depending on who wins the Nov. 8 election.
Potential Trump picks:
-- U.S. Sen. Bob Corker as secretary of State
-- U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn, who spoke at the Republican National Convention
-- U.S. Rep. Diane Black, an outspoken Trump supporter
-- Gov. Bill Haslam, although he called for Trump to let vice presidential candidate Mike Pence take over the race.
Potential Clinton picks:
-- Chattanooga Mayor Andy Berke
-- Nashville Mayor Megan Barry
-- Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero
-- Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland
-- Former Nashville Mayor Karl Dean
-- Mike McWherter, son of the late Gov. Ned McWherter
-- Former U.S. Rep. Bart Gordon, a Democrat from Murfreesboro
-- Former Nashville mayoral candidates Charles Robert Bone and Bill Freeman.
