Baker Donelson security chair joins Nashville office

Alisa L. Chestler, the chair of Baker Donelson’s Privacy and Information Security Team, has joined Baker Donelson’s Nashville office. Chestler will continue to maintain a presence in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, where she was previously based.
Chestler concentrates her practice in privacy and information security issues, health care and insurance regulatory and compliance issues, and health information technology matters. She joined Baker Donelson after serving as in-house counsel and privacy officer to several large public and private companies.
VUMC’s Morrison to lead corp., foundation relations

Erin Morrison, senior director of community development for Vanderbilt University Medical Center Development, has been named executive director of corporate and foundation relations.
In this new role, she will lead the CFR team and work closely with team members in VUMC Development to focus on gift opportunities for the Medical Center through corporate and foundation relationships.
Morrison also will collaborate with Jennifer Pietenpol, Ph.D., executive vice president for research at VUMC, director of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and B.F. Byrd Jr. Professor of Oncology, and several other Medical Center leaders to bring significant resources to the institution’s highest priorities in research, patient care and training.
Morrison served in her previous position for five years and will assume her new role on Oct. 1.
“Erin brings extraordinary skills and experiences to this important role,” Pietenpol said. “Her strength in team- and relationship-building has long supported the creativity and generosity of individuals and organizations executing various fundraising events and programs to benefit the Medical Center. We are thrilled that she will bring her expertise and many strengths to this vital role.”
Kruciak named principal 2nd Generation Capital

Rusty Kruciak has been promoted to principal with 2nd Generation Capital, LLC, a Nashville-based merchant banking and financial advisory firm affiliated with KraftCPAs PLLC.
Kruciak, who joined 2nd Generation in 2015 as a vice president, was previously an investment manager with Relevance Capital, LP, a Nashville-based venture capital firm. He has extensive experience with debt and equity fundraising and strategic consulting for early stage companies operating in the advanced manufacturing, healthcare and software as a service sectors.
A graduate of the University of Tennessee, Kruciak holds the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority License 79.
21c Museum Hotel names Wallace executive chef

21c Museum Hotels, a Louisville-based boutique hotel, contemporary art museum and restaurant group, has named Levon Wallace as executive chef of its forthcoming restaurant, which will be located in 21c Museum Hotel Nashville at 221 Second Avenue North.
The as-yet-unnamed restaurant is scheduled to open spring 2017 near the city’s Printer’s Alley district.
Wallace previously worked with 21c Museum Hotels in Louisville, when he joined Proof on Main in 2012. During his time at Proof on Main, 21c Louisville was selected among Bon Appetit’s “10 Best Hotels for Food Lovers,” and he was selected as the 2014 Rising Star Chef from Star Chefs. Wallace returns to 21c Museum Hotels after serving as the opening executive chef of Cochon Butcher Nashville.
In addition to the daily breakfast, lunch and dinner service and weekend brunch, Wallace will oversee private events and in-room dining for 21c Museum Hotel Nashville.
The company also has locations in Cincinnati, Bentonville, Durham, North Carolina, Lexington, Kentucky, and Oklahoma City.
Fifth Third names Johnson market manager

Kelly Johnson has joined Fifth Third Bank as vice president/business banking market manager for the Tennessee region. In this role, he is responsible for coaching and developing a team of relationship managers in the Nashville and Knoxville markets with business revenue sizes ranging from $2-10 million.
Johnson has more than 16 years of sales, new account development, client relations and coaching experience, including five years in the mortgage industry. He comes to Fifth Third from Regions Bank, where he started as a business banker nine years ago before moving into a commercial relationship team manager position.
He holds a degree from The University of Tennessee-Knoxville and completed a continuing education degree last year from The Graduate School of Banking at LSU in Baton Rouge.
Howell, Oyaghiro join Pinnacle Treasury Dept.

Longtime financial services professionals Theresa Howell and Michelle Oyaghiro have joined Pinnacle Financial Partners as treasury management operations product specialists. They are based at Pinnacle’s downtown Nashville office at Pinnacle at Symphony Place.

Howell brings 35 years of experience and comes most recently from First State Bank, where she served as a teller. Previously she worked for Bank of America, where her roles included serving as a senior teller, operations analyst and interstate credit support specialist.
Oyaghiro, with 21 years of experience, comes to Pinnacle from SunTrust Bank, where she was an operations specialist. Prior roles were with Nashville General Hospital Credit Union, where she was a senior member services representative, and Regions Bank, where roles included serving in the payment operations area, the customer maintenance information call center and as an item processing reconciler.
Edgenet hires director of customer support
East
Lisa East, former client services support and contracts manager at Qualifacts, has been named director of customer support at Edgenet, a Nashville-based Software as a Service (SaaS) company.
East will oversee the strategic planning and execution of all customer support and call center operations. Her role will have a tactical emphasis on customer care, quality management and workforce planning. She also will be responsible for providing high-quality services while meeting service level agreements; developing service procedures, policies and standards; continuously improving call performance and department efficiencies; and identifying trends and implementing any necessary or corrective actions.
East earned a degree in business administration from Appalachian State University and has more than 20 years of progressive experience in team and account management, strategic planning, customer support and sales.
TN CASA honors 3 for helping children

TN CASA, Tennessee Court Appointed Special Advocates, is honoring three state leaders for their dedicated work for the organization and for the impact they have made in advancing the mission of positively impacting the lives of abused and neglected children across the state.
The three honorees are:
- Meagan Frazier, a partner at Smith Harris & Carr, recipient of the Champion for Children Award
- Bonnie Hommrich, commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services, recipient of the Light of Hope Award
- Rep. Charles Sargent, District 61 state representative, recipient of the President’s Award

The Champion for Children Award, given annually to an individual who has dedicated his or her time and talent to give abused and neglected children in Tennessee the chance to thrive.
Frazier, a Dickson County native, saw the need for CASA in her own community and fought through lobbying and fundraising to start a program in her area, making her a true champion for children.

Frazier is a past president of TN CASA’s board of directors.
Throughout her career, Hommrich has worked to improve the practice of child welfare, according to TN CASA.
In 2016, the TN Department of Children’s Services achieved compliance with the 140 benchmarks of the Brian A lawsuit. It was a 15-year endeavor and the leadership of Commissioner Hommrich helped complete and accomplish the daunting task.
The President’s Award is given annually to an individual who has gone above and beyond in his efforts to advance the organization.
Sargent, District 61’s state representative, has advocated for Tennessee CASA on the state level for years. His efforts have helped secure funding for the organization, putting TN CASA in a position to expand its reach across the state.
In 2015, TN CASA named him its Legislator of the Year.
Briddell joins FiftyForward as director of Active Aging

Dr. Jocelyn Briddell recently joined FiftyForward as director of Active Aging, overseeing the nonprofit’s seven lifelong learning centers and the agency’s volunteer programs that focus on engaging older adults.
Briddell was most recently the executive director at Scarritt Bennett Center where she was responsible for the vision, mission and overall administration of the center including its management, oversight of fundraising, and program development on a local, regional, national and international level.
A graduate of Douglass College (1981) – Rutgers University, Briddell has served on several boards in New London, Connecticut, and New Brunswick, New Jersey. She was recently appointed to the Advisory Board for Horizon Summer Camp at University School of Nashville because of her interest in serving the Edgehill community.
ExactTarget co-founder joins Emma board
Emma, a provider of email marketing software and services, has added Peter McCormick, co-founder of ExactTarget (now Salesforce Marketing Cloud) to its board of directors.
McCormick brings more than 16 years of enterprise sales and marketing experience to the board and will help strengthen Emma’s already robust email marketing solutions for midmarket and enterprise organizations.
Under McCormick’s leadership, ExactTarget grew to $400 million in revenue and more than 2,000 employees, resulting in a successful NYSE IPO in 2012 and acquisition by Salesforce for $2.5 billion in 2013.
