Nashville Area Chamber and P2020 Annual Meeting

The theme of the 2016 Chamber Annual Meeting will be A Bold Vision and will focus on the steps we need to take now to create the kind of region we want in the coming decades. Keynote speaker, Ron Gopetzel, vice president, consulting and applied research, Truven Health Analytics; director, Institute for Health and Productivity Studies at Johns Hopkins University’s Bloomberg School of Public Health. The 2016 Spirit of the Chamber awards will be presented as well. 8 a.m. Registration and networking; 8:30-10 a.m. Program. Fee: Complimentary for Chamber members and Partnership 2020 investors. Brentwood Library Benefit

The Brentwood Library will host a benefit concert featuring John Birdsong & Friends at 6 p.m. at the FiftyForward Martin Center. The event will feature soulful jazz, wine, and heavy hors d’oeurves. Tickets are $40 each, $75 for two, or $450 for a table for eight. The benefit concert will help fulfill the dream of bringing Steinway music to the Brentwood Library community. First Saturday Art Crawl

Art galleries throughout downtown host receptions and art openings ever month. 6-9 p.m. Most galleries serve free wine and other refreshments. Enjoy live music on the performance platforms along 5th Avenue North. Two Gray Line Art Crawl Trolleys will provide complimentary shuttle service along the route from 6-10 p.m. Road closures associated with this event. Bike to Jack and Back

More than 700 cyclists will travel from Franklin to Lynchburg for the annual Multiple Sclerosis fundraiser. They can choose between a 55 and 75 mile route. Information: www.BikeMS.org

The Marcela Pinilla Band concludes this year's series.  Free and open to all, 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. Robinson Courtyard, second floor of the Main Library, 615 Church St. Performances are informal, and seating is first-come, first-served. Carnton Plantation Movie Nights

The Battle of Franklin Trust’s movie nights feature family-friendly films on the east lawn at Carnton Plantation. Field of Dreams, 6:30 p.m. is this week’s selection. Gates open one hour prior to the feature presentation. Guests are invited to arrive early to set up chairs, blankets and picnic on the east lawn before the movie begins at sunset. Food and non-alcoholic beverages are permitted and additional food and drinks will be available for purchase, including food trucks and beer vendors. Pets, tents and grills are not permitted. Fees: $5 for ages 5 and up. Free parking on site. Tickets may be purchased in advance at Carnton Plantation or The Carter House, as well as online at www.boft.org. Tickets are non-refundable. In case of weather, all efforts will be made to reschedule the film.

63rd annual Governor’s Conference on Economic and Community Development

Martin Frey, former director for Utah Governor’s Office of Economic Development, will be the keynote speaker. Renaissance Nashville Hotel.
