Ney named chief deputy to state attorney general

Paul C. Ney, Jr. is joining the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office as chief deputy.

In his role as chief deputy attorney general, Ney will coordinate and supervise the substantive legal work of all five sections of the office.

Ney has practiced law for 31 years, most recently with Patterson Intellectual Property Law, P.C. His previous experience includes serving as deputy general counsel for the U.S. Department of Defense and acting general counsel of the Department of the Navy. More recently, Ney served as director of the Nashville Mayor’s Office of Economic and Community Development.

Ney graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Law, where he was elected to membership in the Order of the Coif and a member of the Editorial Board of the Law Review. He earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University.

Ney succeeds Chief Deputy Lucy Honey Haynes, who recently retired after 34 years of service.

Cole elected president of bar presidents conference

Jonathan Cole, a shareholder in Baker Donelson’s Nashville office, has been elected president of the National Conference of Bar Presidents (NCBP). He is the first Nashville lawyer to be elected to this position.

Founded in 1950, the NCBP’s goal is to provide high-quality programming and a forum for current bar leaders from across the country and abroad to exchange best practices. As president, Cole leads the Executive Council, comprised of past bar presidents, and oversees leaders from state, local and special focus bars from 53 states and territories.

The NCBP hosts bi-annual conferences for members that are held in conjunction with the ABA midyear and annual meetings and provides resources to bar presidents throughout the year to strengthen their respective bar’s programs and services.

Cole is a member of Baker Donelson’s Financial Services Litigation Group. He founded and has served as the chair of the firm’s pro bono program and is a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, the Tennessee Bar Foundation and the Nashville Bar Foundation.

He served as president of the Nashville Bar Association in 2010, is a former chair of the ABA’s Young Lawyers Division and serves as director of the American Bar Endowment.

Hudler selected to lead regional planning group

Cumberland Region Tomorrow, an organization created to improve growth planning in the 10-county greater Nashville area, has tapped Carol Hudler, founder of Hudler Success Strategies, to be its CEO.

CRT is a private, non-profit, citizen-based regional organization that works with public and private partners to help shape patterns of growth and development that enhance and sustain the ten-county region’s future livability and economic vitality. Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Maury, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson and Wilson Counties comprise the region.

Hudler, a former Tennessean publisher, will facilitate the CRT’s eighth annual POWER OF TEN Regional Summit on Nov. 9 at Nashville’s Music City Center.

Hundreds of Middle Tennessee leaders in government, economic and community development, land-use and transportation planning, architecture and engineering will convene to discuss top regional issues and collaborate on how to meet the challenges and opportunities created by the region’s growth. ReviveHealth adds veteran health care marketer

ReviveHealth has hired Lindsay Resnick, who brings more than three decades of experience as a healthcare marketing leader, as executive vice president.

Resnick will be responsible for driving business development and growing the agency across all capabilities.

Prior to joining ReviveHealth, Resnick served as CMO and executive vice president for Wunderman Health, where he oversaw the rebranding of KBM Group: Health Services into an integrated marketing services agency, managed relationships with critical clients, and led business development efforts that more than doubled revenue for the agency over a five-year period.

Prior to Wunderman Health, Resnick served in executive leadership roles for Gorman Health Group, HealthMarket, Celtic Life and Blue Cross Blue Shield Association.

Resnick also serves a mentor with HealthBox, an accelerator program for health care technology startups. He is also a respected speaker, blogger and author.

Family Center announces new members of board

The Family Center board president, Jeff Stroop, owner of Murfreesboro based Redan Agency, has announced additions to The Family Center board of directors.

They include: Clay Hart, senior vice president, Capital Bank and Trust/Renasant Bank; Abhishek Mathur, principal, Priam Capital; Gracie Porter, retired educator; Jerre Richards, COO, Richards & Richards Office Records Management, Inc.; Judge Philip Smith, Davidson County Fourth Circuit Court; Molly Tarpy, Realtor, RealtyTrust Residential; and Jeffrey Woods, doctor and CEO, TrustPoint Hospital.

The Family Center provides support and parent education to at-risk families in Rutherford and Davidson Counties.

Pinnacle Asset adds East, Jones as VPs

Jeff East and Doug Jones have joined Pinnacle Financial Partners as senior vice presidents and financial consultants for Pinnacle Asset Management, the firm whose advisors offer fee-based investment management by working with Raymond James Financial Services, Inc.

East brings eight years of investment services experience and most recently comes from Regions Investment Solutions, a division of Regions Bank, where he was a financial consultant. He previously was an investment management consultant for Raymond James & Associates (Morgan Keegan & Company).

Jones

East earned his bachelor’s degree in management and finance from the University of Tennessee. He will be located at Pinnacle’s Green Hills office.

Jones was most recently a financial consultant for Regions Investment Solutions. His 25 years of financial services experience includes serving as executive director of corporate employee financial services at UBS Financial Services, Inc. He also was as an investment limited partner of corporate services for J.C. Bradford & Company.

Jones earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and finance from the University of Tennessee.

Pflum named CFO of 20|20 Research

Pflum

John Pflum, vice president of accounting and finance for global research technology and service firm 20|20 Research, has been named the company’s chief financial officer.

In this role, Pflum will oversee all of 20|20’s financial operations, including financial planning, reporting and accounting, as well as manage the company’s human resources organization.

Based in Nashville and founded in 1986, 20|20 Research helped pioneer online qualitative research techniques, serving clients with projects in more than 95 countries.

Prior to 20|20, Pflum was the director of business affairs and human resources leader for the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing. Before this, Pflum served as finance director for Ipsos Understanding Unlimited, a global research firm headquartered in Paris. He also has extensive experience in accounting and finance at various engineering and civil engineering firms.

Pflum holds an MBA and a BS in business administration from Xavier University.

Hall Strategies hires Moore after internship

Nashville-based public relations and government affairs firm Hall Strategies has hired Logan Moore as a public relations coordinator. Moore recently served as an intern with the firm over the summer.

Moore is a spring 2016 graduate of Auburn University, where she majored in public relations with an emphasis in nonprofit and philanthropy studies. During her time at Auburn, she served as the university’s chapter president of the Public Relations Student Society of America and interned with Auburn University’s Office of Communications and Marketing.

Moore previously worked at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center as a public affairs intern. In 2013, she interned with Lighthouse Family Retreat, a nonprofit organization that serves families living through childhood cancer.

Cundiff promoted to Civil Group leader

Barge, Waggoner, Sumner and Cannon, Inc. has promoted Jeff Cundiff, PE, LEED AP, to Civil Group leader within the Land Resources Business Unit of the Nashville office.

Cundiff joined Barge Waggoner in early 2007 and has more than 12 years of experience in the engineering field. His experience includes specialties in sustainability within the built environment. Cundiff is a Registered Professional Engineer in Tennessee, Georgia, New Jersey and New York.

He earned a degree in civil engineering from Tennessee Technological University and a MBA from Lipscomb University. Cundiff has also obtained a Certificate of Graduate Studies in Sustainability from Lipscomb and participated in the BWSC Leadership Institute. He was awarded by the firm with the Dan Barge Award of Merit in 2012.

Health Care Council taps Pinson as board chair

C. Wright Pinson, MBA, M.D., deputy CEO and chief health system officer for Vanderbilt University Medical Center, will serve as chair of the Nashville Health Care Council board of directors for a two-year term.

The Nashville Health Care Council is an association of health care industry leaders working together to further establish Nashville’s position as the nation’s health care industry capital.

Fisher, Seyfarth join staff at Andrews Agency

Francie Fisher has joined the Andrews Agency as an account executive, and Michele Seyfarth has been hired as an account services associate.

A Nashville native, Fisher is a graduate of the Wake Forest University Schools of Business. Previous positions include a stint as marketing and events manager at Town and Country magazine

Seyfarth is a recent alumna of DePaul University with degrees in public relations and journalism. She formerly wrote for Michigan Avenue magazine.
