Titans' 2015 draft class almost gone

In remaking the Tennessee Titans roster, general manager Jon Robinson isn’t guaranteeing much to the players he inherited, no matter how recently they were drafted.

In addition to jettisoning Blidi Wreh-Wilson, a third-round pick in 2013 in early cuts, two more players drafted just last year by outgoing general manager Ruston Webster were shown the door in the first round of cuts.

In waiving linebacker Deiontrez Mount and center Andy Gallik, that now makes three players taken in 2015 who are no longer on the Titans’ roster.

Earlier in camp, Robinson sent shockwaves through the Titans organization by trading heralded receiver Dorial Green-Beckham to the Eagles for a backup lineman in Dennis Kelly.

Only Marcus Mariota, defensive end Angelo Blackson and fullback Jalston Fowler remain from last year’s nine-member draft class. The rest will be backups or practice squad players, if they stick with the club at all.

Several members from the classes of 2013 and ‘14 are on shaky ground, as well, with final cuts due this weekend.

It’s a cold reminder that with a new sheriff in town in Robinson, past draft status now means little compared to present performance with the Titans.
