Live on the Green: Weekend festival finale. Enjoy free live music outside in the Public Square, located in front of the Metro Courthouse. Public Square, 3rd Avenue N and Union. This year’s Live on the Green is capped with a three-day festival finale with two stages showcasing 25 artists throughout the weekend. Headliners include Young the Giant on Thursday, Band of Horses on Friday, and Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals on Saturday. Blankets, folding chairs, strollers and water bottles are welcome. $5 parking is available in the Metro Courthouse parking garage, located directly below the park, and at Nissan Stadium. Courtyard Concerts at Downtown Library
Courtyard Concerts, free and open to all, occur Tuesdays at 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. through Oct. 4. They take place in the Robinson Courtyard, located on the second floor of the Main Library, 615 Church St. Performances are informal, and seating is first-come, first-served. More than 700 Marines will descend on Nashville and will showcase 80 events open to the public, including a parade on Broadway. In addition to the public events, the hundreds of Marines will participate in community service events during the week that include serving lunch at the Nashville Rescue Mission and a visit to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.
