Adult sons sue over actor-politician Fred Thompson's estate
NASHVILLE (AP) - The widow of actor-politician Fred Thompson is denying any changes were made to his will that would affect his adult sons from a previous marriage.
The Tennessean reports (http://tnne.ws/2aFBhKN ) that Jeri Thompson in her legal filing asks the probate court in Nashville to dismiss the lawsuit filed by Dan and Tony Thompson because the adult sons were never in her husband's estate plans.
The sons say the changes were made when their father "lacked the requisite mental capacity."
According to Jerri Thompson, the only changes were to ensure the couple's two young children were entitled to a part of the estate.
Fred Thompson was a Tennessee-trained lawyer, counsel at the Watergate hearings, movie and TV actor, U.S. senator and presidential hopeful. He died in November at age 73.
