Who is Tajae Sharpe? The fifth-round pick from Massachusetts has seemingly come from nowhere to claim a starting role for the Tennessee Titans.
He caught 111 passes as a senior for the Minutemen, leading the nation in receptions. Sharpe also had six 100-yard receiving games with 1,319 total yards and six touchdowns.
Sharpe first caught the Titans’ attention at the Senior Bowl, showing General Manager Jon Robinson and the scouting staff he could hold his own against bigger and stronger competition.
Sharpe said shortly after the Titans drafted him that he had worked out for Tennessee and knew of their interest in him.
“I’m not surprised I ended up here because I love the Tennessee Titans and I felt they loved what they saw out of me. I’m glad to be a Titan,” Sharpe said back in April.
When he arrived for rookie mini-camp, he brought his own football with him, and sometimes even sleeps with a football at night.
“With the transition from college to the NFL, I want to have the rock in my hand as much as I can and get used to it. I love it. I love the game.”
