TVA wants public comment on solar facility assessment
KNOXVILLE (AP) — The Tennessee Valley Authority is asking for public comment on a draft environmental assessment for a proposed purchase agreement with a planned solar generating facility in McNairy County.
TVA says it has tentatively approved a 20-year agreement to purchase 20 megawatts of power, pending the outcome of the assessment.
Silicon Ranch Corp. has proposed the solar project on 99 acres near Selmer, Tennessee.
The draft assessment evaluates anticipated environmental effects of construction and operation of the facility and associated electrical connection. The documents are available at http://www.tva.com/nepa.
Comments should be submitted by Aug. 26 to Charles P. Nicholson, NEPA Compliance, Tennessee Valley Authority, 400 W. Summit Hill Drive, WT 11D, Knoxville 37902, or by email at [email protected].
