Truxton Trust announces Kimberly (Kim) J. Knight, CTP, AAP, has joined the firm as senior vice president, Treasury Management sales officer.

Knight joined Truxton Trust from Regions Bank in Nashville where she previously served in Treasury Management sales – specializing in the large commercial and industrial (C&I) and healthcare sectors.

In addition, she served as senior Treasury Management sales consultant at Wells Fargo.

She actively serves on the Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) - Nashville Board of Directors.

Brown, Stinson join Pinnacle Financial

Betty Rhea Brown and Ron Stinson have joined Pinnacle Financial Partners.

Brown, who has more than 25 years of financial services experience, joins Pinnacle as a senior vice president and loan review officer. She comes most recently from Professional Bank Services Inc., where she was a senior consultant in loan review. Previously, Brown was with Barclays Bank PLC in New York, where she was associate director in the investment banking division.

She earned her bachelor’s degree at Tennessee Technological University.

Stinson, who has 20 years of experience, joins Pinnacle as senior vice president and credit advisor. He comes to Pinnacle from First Tennessee Bank, where he was a senior relationship manager for the corporate and commercial banking area. Prior to First Tennessee, Stinson was a middle market portfolio manager for SunTrust Bank’s corporate and investment banking division.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and business administration and his master’s degree in finance and negotiation from Belmont University. He is a graduate of the Southeastern School of Banking.

Brown and Stinson are based at Pinnacle’s downtown Nashville office at Pinnacle at Symphony Place.

Benchmark Realty adds five to staff

Brian Casteel, Jill Kirk, Larry McCumber, Jane Werling and David Wright have been hired by Benchmark Realty.

Casteel, who brings 16 years of experience to Benchmark, will assist sellers with residential and investment properties in both Davidson and Williamson Counties and is an accredited broker. Casteel is a member of the Williamson County Association of Realtors.

Kirk joins Benchmark with over three years of experience in the real estate industry. She will serve both buyers and sellers in Middle Tennessee with residential, land and farm properties.

McCumber, who has been in the real estate industry for over 30 years, will assist buyers and sellers in Southern Middle Tennessee with residential, commercial, investment, land and farm, poultry operations and distressed properties. McCumber also specializes in lake properties on Tims Ford Lake.

Werling joins Benchmark Realty with a strong background in sales and marketing. She will assist buyers and sellers with residential properties in both Williamson and Davidson Counties and has both her ABR and GRI accreditations.

Wright moved to Nashville over 20 years ago to pursue a master’s in historic preservation. At Benchmark, he will serve buyers and sellers in both Davidson and Williamson counties with residential, investment and distressed properties. Wright is an active member of the Williamson County Association.

Vandy’s Smith wins 2 national awards

Loren Smith, M.D., Ph.D., an anesthesiology resident at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, recently received two national research awards.

Sullivan

Smith’s awards were the Margaret Wood Resident Research Award, from the Association of University Anesthesiologists (AUA); and the 2016 Young Investigator Award, from the Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists (SOCCA).

Smith won both awards for the same abstract — “A Novel Association Between High Density Lipoprotein Levels and the Risk of Acute Kidney Injury After Cardiac Surgery.” In addition, Mark Sullivan, Pharm.D., MBA, executive director of Pharmacy Operations for Vanderbilt University Hospital and Clinics, has been named a fellow of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
