NASHVILLE (AP) — Americana darling Jason Isbell leads the nominations for the Americana Music Association's Honors and Awards with three nods for album of the year, artist of the year and song of the year.
The nominations were announced Wednesday in Washington, D.C., for the awards show to be held in Nashville, Tennessee, on Sept. 21. The singer-songwriter won two Grammys this year for best Americana album for "Something More Than Free" and best American roots song for "24 Frames."
Singer songwriters Chris Stapleton and Lucinda Williams will compete with Isbell in the artist of the year and album of the year categories. Soul band Nathaniel Rateliff and the Nightsweats and country singer Margo Price are also both nominated for song of the year and new/emerging artist of the year.
