Print | Front Page | Email this story

LOUDON (AP) — An Italian tile maker says it is expanding its manufacturing operation in East Tennessee, investing $30 million and adding 40 jobs.

The Knoxville News Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1ShgrAH) reports Del Conca USA will add two production lines at its facility in the Sugarlimb Industral Park in Loudon. The plant opened in 2014.

The expansion will allow the plant to make larger tiles for the U.S. market.

State Economic and Community Development Director Randy Boyd said about 1,300 people in Tennessee work in the ceramic-tile manufacturing field.
