Federal officials hosting business event at TSU
NASHVILLE (AP) - The U.S. Department of Health and Human Resources is hosting a small business outreach event at Tennessee State University on Wednesday.
The one-day event on TSU's Avon Williams Campus in Nashville begins at 8 a.m. and seeks to educate small business owners about regional government contracting opportunities.
Federal officials say small business owners will learn strategies for identifying and pursuing contract opportunities with HHS, and meet with government representatives.
Teresa Lewis is director of HHS' Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization. She says the agency uses small businesses to assist in strengthening the health care of all Americans by advancing scientific knowledge, innovation, health care safety and accountability.
