Steve Tobin: Natural World

World-renowned sculptor Steve Tobin, who explores natural forms through monumental works in glass, bronze, steel and clay, will speak at Watkins College of Art, Design & Film, 6:30 p.m., as part of the school’s Visiting Artists Series. The event, held in the Watkins Theater, is free and the public is invited. His appearance is in conjunction with his solo exhibition Southern Roots, which will be on view on the grounds and in the Museum of Art at Cheekwood Feb. 20-Sept. 4. Enjoy traveling through time as you walk among MORE THAN 50 gowns that are being placed on loan and exhibited, most for the first time. The “Wedding Dresses Through the Decades” exhibit at Oaklands Mansion (900 North Maney Avenue, Murfreesboro) is presented Monday-Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sundays 1 p.m.-4 p.m. Special Friday evening openings will take place Jan. 22, Feb. 5 & 19, and again Mar. 4, 4-8 p.m.
