The Tennessean names new executive editor
NASHVILLE (AP) - The Tennessean has named a new vice president of news and executive editor.
The newspaper reports (http://tnne.ws/1P6a1Hf) Michael A. Anastasi will also lead the TN Media network, which includes The Leaf-Chronicle in Clarksville and The Daily News Journal in Murfreesboro.
Anastasi has been serving a similar position for the Los Angeles News Group - a consortium of nine daily and six weekly newspapers in Southern California.
He has led that group to several national accolades, including its first Pulitzer Prize. The April award was for local reporting and honored investigative work that revealed rampant corruption at a local school district.
Prior to becoming an editor in Los Angeles, Anastasi was managing editor of The Salt Lake Tribune.
Anastasi will begin at The Tennessean and TN Media network on Nov. 30.
