Study shows Goodwill's impact on Middle Tennessee economy
NASHVILLE (AP) — A new study says Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee could help generate 21,000 jobs in the region over the next decade.
The study was released recently by the Business and Economic Research Center at Middle Tennessee State University.
Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee serves 48 counties. According to the study, the latest projection is a 66 percent increase over the nearly 13,400 jobs the not-for-profit organization was responsible for in 2014.
The study also says that every dollar spent by Goodwill Industries creates an additional $3.30 in benefits, and the total economic impact is estimated at $476 million.
