Schools in Williamson, Rutherford recognized for high student performance
NASHVILLE (AP) - Six Tennessee schools have been recognized nationally for exceptional student performance.
The state Education Department said the schools were recognized this week as 2015 National Blue Ribbon Schools based on their overall academic excellence or progress in closing achievement gaps among students.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors elementary, middle and high schools where students either show tremendous achievement or are making notable improvements in closing the achievement gap between underserved groups of students and their peers.
Middle College High School in Shelby County and Clovercroft Elementary and Ravenwood High, both in Williamson County, were honored for academic achievement.
Falling Water Elementary School in Hamilton County, Buchanan Elementary School in Rutherford County and Trousdale County High School were recognized for closing gaps between groups of students.
