NASHVILLE (AP) - A task force appointed by Gov. Bill Haslam to look at prison sentencing guidelines and recidivism has made its final recommendations.

Multiple media report that the recommendations were released Thursday. Committee member Rep. William Lamberth says the recommendations would allow the system to better deal with repeat offenders.

The recommendations include longer sentences for those with three or more convictions of drug trafficking, burglary and domestic violence.

Other recommendations include giving law enforcement the authority to seek emergency protection orders in domestic violence arrests, continuing to support specialty courts for people dealing with addiction and mental illness, increasing sex offender housing and treatment options and individualizing supervision guidelines for parolees.
