Pastor raises money to build tiny homes for homeless
NASHVILLE (AP) — A Nashville pastor who was trying to raise $50,000 to build a community of tiny homes for the homeless has exceeded his goal.
Pastor Jeff Obafemi Carr of Infinity Fellowship Interfaith Gathering Church said Thursday that he's received over $51,000 in contributions. He started the effort on June 20.
The homes would be just 60 square feet each and would have no running water, but there would be a communal bathroom, kitchen and showers.
Carr lived in a model of the home until he reached his goal.
He plans to use the money he's raised to build seven more homes.
